American Women Statement on New Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors and Equal Pay Guidelines
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today American Women Executive Director Kate Black issued the following statement on the Obama administration’s final rules on paid sick leave for federal contractors and new equal pay guidelines, a move that will impact millions of people.
“We applaud the recent announcements on paid sick leave and equal pay as steps in the right direction for workers across the country. These two new rules are a welcome relief that will impact millions of families. Our outdated workplace policies must keep pace with the demands of our changing workforce. These two rules are significant steps toward economic security for women. We need more leaders, especially women leaders, whose perspectives will shape workplace policies that give hardworking families a fair shot to get ahead.”
